1. Information Stored When a Link Is Created

When a short link is created, the service may store:

• The original destination URL submitted by the user
• The generated short-link code
• An optional QR title entered by the user
• A private random token for the monitoring page
• The date and time the link was created
• The current link status
• The total number of times the short link has been used
• The date and time of the most recent use

2. QR CODE and Optional Title

The QR CODE generated by the service points to the short URL. Users may optionally provide a title that appears below the QR code and in the downloaded image.

If the title field is left empty, the service does not add a title, HassApps branding or other additional text to the downloaded QR image.

3. Link Usage Statistics

The service currently stores basic aggregate statistics, including the total number of visits and the most recent time the short link was used.

The monitoring page does not provide the link owner with a list of visitor IP addresses or identify individual visitors.

4. Private Monitoring Link

Each newly created short link receives a separate private monitoring URL that provides access to the available statistics.

No account or password is currently required for the monitoring page. Possession of the monitoring URL acts as the means of access to that page.

5. Short-Link Reports

HassApps provides a reporting system for short links that users believe may lead to harmful, fraudulent, misleading or otherwise prohibited content.

A report may include the reported short link, the selected reason, optional details, report status, submission date and review information.

6. Technical Information and Server Logs

HassApps servers, hosting infrastructure and security providers may process standard technical information such as IP address, browser or device information, request time, requested pages and security-related information.

This information may be used to operate the service, investigate technical problems, prevent abuse and detect automated or malicious requests.

7. Cloudflare Turnstile

HassApps uses Cloudflare Turnstile to help distinguish legitimate visitors from automated traffic and to protect link creation and reporting forms from spam and abuse.

Cloudflare may process technical information necessary to perform its security and verification functions.

8. Google Services, Analytics and Advertising

Public HassApps pages may use Google services such as analytics, measurement or advertising when those services are enabled.

These services may use cookies, browser storage, IP addresses, device information or similar technologies according to their configuration and privacy policies.

Not every Google service is necessarily enabled on every HassApps URL Shortener page.

9. Cookies and Similar Technologies

HassApps and third-party services used by the website may use cookies or similar technologies for security, analytics, measurement, advertising or technical operation.

Browser settings may allow users to block or delete cookies and similar data, although doing so may affect some website or security features.

QR codes are generated in the browser using a JavaScript library.

The library may be delivered through an external content delivery network. The CDN provider may therefore receive standard technical information associated with the request to download the library file.

Information associated with the service may be used to:

• Create and operate short links
• Redirect visitors to destination URLs
• Generate QR codes
• Provide private monitoring statistics
• Process abuse reports
• Detect and disable harmful or prohibited links
• Prevent spam, bots and excessive automated use
• Protect the website and database
• Diagnose technical problems
• Improve and maintain the service

12. When Information May Be Shared

Information may be processed by service providers necessary to operate HassApps, including hosting, infrastructure, database and security providers.

Cloudflare may process information when security verification is performed, and Google services may process information when applicable Google features are enabled.

Information may also be disclosed when required by applicable law or when reasonably necessary to protect HassApps, its users or others from abuse or harmful activity.

13. Data Retention and Disabled Links

HassApps may retain short-link records even after a link has been disabled in order to prevent code reuse, support abuse prevention, maintain service integrity and preserve necessary operational records.

Disabling a short link does not necessarily mean that all related records are immediately removed from databases, system logs or backups.

HassApps uses reasonable technical measures to help protect the service against unauthorized access, automated abuse and malicious activity.

No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

The last-updated date at the top of this page will be changed when appropriate.
